The converted outbuilding problem

The Vale of Aylesbury has a lot of property with outbuildings, and a lot of cars living in them. Stables, cart sheds, converted barns, and the occasional purpose-built garage attached to a house that was standing long before anyone thought about where to put a car.

These buildings have a common characteristic: they were designed to be ventilated, because they were built to house animals or hay. Ventilation is the enemy of stored metal. Air moves through, humidity tracks the outside, and the temperature swings every night. A brick or stone building is worse again, because the mass holds cold and the car warms faster than the walls do, which is exactly the condition that puts water on the paint.

The result is a car that lives somewhere that looks perfect and behaves badly.

What we are

We are a family-run business operating four discreet rural sites in North Bucks, fifteen minutes apart, with capacity for over 150 vehicles. We do not publish the addresses and visits are strictly by prior appointment. For cars of this value, discretion is part of the service rather than an obstacle to it.

Cars are stored indoors and dehumidified, kept on trickle charge where appropriate, and checked regularly. Detailing, MOT and servicing can be arranged before you collect, so the car is ready to drive rather than ready to recommission.

Security in a rural setting

The other reason owners in the Vale come to us is less about damp and more about who knows what is in the outbuilding. Rural properties are visible, often set back from a road, and frequently empty during the day. A car worth six figures sitting behind a wooden door with a hasp is a known problem, and it is one your insurer is likely to have views about.

Our sites are unmarked, unpublished and monitored. Nobody drives past them and wonders what is inside, because there is nothing to see.
