Selling a classic car privately takes more time than most owners expect. Photographs that do the car justice, a description that answers the questions buyers actually ask, and then the enquiries: the ones who want the car, the ones who want a conversation, and the ones who want neither.

Auto Classica sells classic cars, sports and performance cars, prestige vehicles and supercars on behalf of their owners. You keep the car until it sells. We handle the preparation, the presentation and the buyers.
What we take on
Every car is different, so the work is agreed with you first. It can include:
Valuation research and report. A written valuation based on recent market data for the model, so the asking price is set on evidence rather than optimism.
Preparation. Detailing and valeting, attention to minor imperfections, and MOT or servicing where the car needs it before it goes to market.
Photography. Proper photography of the car, shot to show what it actually is rather than to flatter it.
The written description. History, provenance, specification and the details that matter to someone who knows the model.
Introduction to buyers. The car is listed on our own cars for sale pages and put in front of an audience of classic and specialist car owners. Where a buyer needs finance or insurance, we can introduce them to people we work with.
Which cars we take
We are selective, and it is worth being plain about why. The cars we sell are classic, sports and performance, prestige and supercars, in the middle to upper end of the market. That is the audience we have, and it is the audience that buys.
If you are unsure whether your car fits, ask. It costs nothing to find out, and we would rather tell you honestly than take on a car we cannot sell well.
Your car does not need to be stored with us
This is worth saying clearly, because owners often assume otherwise. We sell cars for owners who store with us and for owners who do not. If your car sits in your own garage, that is fine. Storage is available if you want it, and there are practical reasons some owners choose it during a sale. A car that is indoors, dehumidified and ready to view is easier to sell than one that needs an afternoon of preparation before every appointment. But it is an option, not a condition.
How it works
Get in touch with the car's details: make, model, year, mileage and a note of its history and condition. Photographs help, even phone ones. We will tell you honestly whether it is a car we can sell, and what we think it is worth. If it makes sense for both of us, we agree the work and the terms before anything starts. Our commission is agreed with you in advance and is only payable on a sale.
There is no obligation in the first conversation, and no cost to having it.

Do you sell cars that are not stored with you?
Yes. Your car does not need to be in our storage for us to sell it. We sell for owners who store with us and for owners who keep the car at home.

How is the asking price decided?
We research recent sales of comparable cars and give you a written valuation. The price is then agreed with you. We will tell you if we think a figure is optimistic, because a car that sits unsold for months does neither of us any good.
Do I have to pay anything up front?
No. Our commission is agreed in advance and is payable when the car sells. Any preparation work such as detailing, photography or servicing is agreed with you before it is carried out.
How long does it take to sell a car?
It depends entirely on the car, the price and the market for it at the time. We would rather give you a realistic view of that at the outset than a reassuring one.
Can I still drive the car while it is for sale?
Yes, if it is with you. We will just ask you to keep us posted on mileage and condition so the listing stays accurate.
What happens when a buyer is found?
We handle the enquiries, the viewings and the negotiation, and keep you informed throughout. Nothing is agreed without your say-so.
