Milton Keynes has a particular problem when it comes to storing a car properly, and it is a consequence of how the city was built. Almost all of the housing stock is post-1967, and the garages that came with it were sized for a Vauxhall Viva. They are narrow, unheated, single-skin and frequently integral to the house, which means they are also damp.

Put a classic in one for five months and the conditions do the damage that the miles never did. Condensation forms on cold metal overnight, settles into the sills and the inner arches, and works away out of sight. The car looks unchanged in April. The bill arrives two years later.

There is also the practical matter of space. A garage that holds one car holds one car, and most of the people who talk to us have run out of room for the second.

What we are

We are a family-run business operating four discreet rural sites in North Bucks, fifteen minutes apart, with capacity for over 150 vehicles. We do not publish the addresses and visits are strictly by prior appointment. For cars of this value, discretion is part of the service rather than an obstacle to it.

Cars are stored indoors and dehumidified, kept on trickle charge where appropriate, and checked regularly. Detailing, MOT and servicing can be arranged before you collect, so the car is ready to drive rather than ready to recommission.

Being close matters more than you would think

Owners who store fifteen minutes away use their cars more. That sounds obvious and it is still the thing people underestimate when they compare us with somewhere cheaper an hour away. A Sunday morning run becomes a decision you make over breakfast rather than one you plan a week ahead.
